Postcards from Pavlikeni

A residency in Bulgaria, October 2020.

That was almost a month ago, and it already feels so far away! I was delighted to take part in PAVLIKENI AND THE WORLD, a residency at the Pavlikeni International Outdoor Centre, with an exceptional exhibition held at the parliament. Thanks to the Mayor of Pavlikeni, Emanuel Manolov, and his team, especially Maria Petkova.

01Pavlikeni is a town in Veliko Tarnovo Province, Northern Bulgaria, about 41 kilometers from the city of Veliko Tarnovo. Pavlikeni was a centre of ceramics and pottery in Antiquity as evidenced by the remains from Roman and Thracian times. After the Liberation Pavlikeni developed as a centre of craftsmanship and trade, with many new buildings being constructed.
